Neighborhood Watch
Audubon Park is a neighborhood that historically has had very little crime and the intent of the Neighborhood Watch (NW) program is to maintain this trend. This low crime rate is due in large part to the participation of Audubon Park residents like you in the NW program. The program which is managed by your neighbors and backed by the Durham Police Department, lends much of its success to the heavy use of technology to communicate crime trends and alerts. Please register your contact information so that you can get plugged in today.
Members
The NW is comprised of members from ALL 317 Audubon Park households so you are already a member. Of course we’ll need your contact information so that we can communicate with you in the event of real-time crime alert.
Who runs the Neighborhood Watch
The program is run by a core group of volunteers called Block Captains. Block Captains help register members, moderate the list serve, maintain membership to the phone tree (Calling Post ®), attend PAC-4 meetings, and organize the NNO. This award winning program is only possible with your help. Please consider volunteering today.
Emergency Alerts
In the event that a crime is being committed in real-time, we have the ability to call 2 phone numbers per member for everybody in the neighborhood that registered.
Non-Emergency Alerts
In order for us to pass along non-urgent information, we use a list serve to send email to everybody in parallel. To use this service, you’ll need to register your email address.
