Note About House Color Changes: The Audubon Park Architectural Committee reserves the right to deny changes to house color if they are deemed inappropriate for the general aesthetic of the community. If you are thinking about changing your house color, you should first look at your house the way a home buyer would. Are the colors too striking? Do they stick out? Are they inconsistent with the rest of the neighborhood?
Colors are a very personal choice and if your house color is too bold, you risk eliminating potential buyers of your house in the future, and you may end up having to accept a lower price for your home when you sell. One abnormal house can affect the market value of all homes in the community.
In reviewing color changes, the Architectural Committee looks at the following. Answering yes to one of these questions will generally result in a rejected application:
- Are the colors too bold or bright?
- Do the door/shutter colors clash with the main house color?
- Are there other houses within view of your house that have the same or similar colors already?
